The figure is just a left over dried bit of acrylic from a palette which I added fingers to and glued on. Watercolor crayon for background, with bits of tissue for texture and a smudge of pearl ex.
I'm a self taught painter that lurks in the "thin veil" for painting subjects. I'm inspired by nature, animals, dreams and spiritual themes. For me, at least, it's all about the process of creating -- getting lost in the moment or should I say hours. Painting keeps me connected to the authentic and helps me unplug from an insane world. I like trying new things even if they don't work out at first. I learn from it all. The most important thing I've learned about painting is to HAVE FUN and don't take critics too seriously.
I am an active member of a stimulating on-line mixed media group: garyreef.ning.com. Amazing work from amazing people.
I am also a member of the Monroe Artists , the Blue Ridge Arts Association and the Southern Appalachia Artists.
