Acrylic over old watercolor painting. Found the mountains by wiping off some gesso. Lines cut in fresh paint and put in a smidge of gold. Computer enhanced to kick up color and dimension.
I'm a self taught painter that lurks in the "thin veil" for painting subjects. I'm inspired by nature, animals, dreams and spiritual themes. For me, at least, it's all about the process of creating -- getting lost in the moment or should I say hours. Painting keeps me connected to the authentic and helps me unplug from an insane world. I like trying new things even if they don't work out at first. I learn from it all. The most important thing I've learned about painting is to HAVE FUN and don't take critics too seriously.
I am an active member of a stimulating on-line mixed media group: garyreef.ning.com. Amazing work from amazing people.
I am also a member of the Monroe Artists , the Blue Ridge Arts Association and the Southern Appalachia Artists.
